Week 2 Stairs

Stair 1:

Material Selection- Painted white wood which matches with the walls of the in-between space.

Word- Dove
I had originally planned to make these heavy stairs but it would capture excessive attention due to its peculiar shape, so I shortened the height of the risers and added in a singular tubular bar supporting the stair.

Stair 2:

Material Selection- As a break point between the in-between and lower space, the materials selected for this stair are stone and metal.

This is an example of the light stairs, the steps are only supported by the stone column running down the middle of the stairs. There are no physical risers which is why it is also categorized as a light stair.

Stair 3:

Material Selection - Black painted wood to match the theme of the lower space. In contrast to the scheme of the space, the stair is composed of smooth edges rather than sharp edges.

Word: Dark, in relation to colour and shape.

Stair 4:
Material Selection: Since most of this stair is outside the building, glass material was chosen for the steps so that people may look down onto the ground below them which was one the main shaping factor of the circular shaped roof, front and back of the building.
