Garden - Sensors in the Garden
https://pachube.com/feeds/23986
I found this feed to be the most interesting from the feeds listed on the Pachube.com website as it is similar to a scientific experiment I conducted for an assignment in year 10. The real-time data is collected by sensors which were placed in the soil of this person's garden in the UK. The sensors measure the rise and fall in the temperature, humidity, dew point, soil temperature, and soil moisture in the garden.

5 Real Time Captures of Final Submission
Client - Lady Gaga
Client: Jonothan Ive
------------------------
------------------------
Ive and GaGa both work in the Music industry, thus a table resembling a piano would perfectly fit the criteria. Inspiration from the Apple Logo allowed me to design the tabletop, the 'lightning' shape pierced through the middle was inspired by GaGa's makeup(1) and the 'charging' icon displayed on iPhones/iPod etc.(2) The chairs are simply extrusions of the letters 'J'(Jonothan) and 'L'(Lady). The position of the table and chairs allow the users to interact and the give each other more 'strength' and knowledge by exchanging ideas over the table, very much like an electric current powering an electronic device.
------------------------
------------------------
The idea of 'power' is accentuated by the combination of GaGa's Elevator and Office design. The design of the Office was inspired by her hair colour at one time(3), the triangular faces are inspired by her dressing sense (4), the elevator inspired by the recurrence of disco balls in her Music Videos(5), and the 'horns'/columns inspired by a particular costume (6). Power is resembled by the bright colours, contrasting to the dull cityscape, and the royalty-like entrance from the elevator.
------------------------
The simple bridge design allows for more attention to fall on the office designs. The design of Ive's elevator was influenced by the iPhone Power Cable. The office design was inspired by the idea of a black iPhone case shielding a white iPhone. The notion of power is accentuated by the contrary colours used to Gaga's, Black and White. It demonstrates that bold and bright colours don't appeal to Apple customers, as colour is used in a different sense. In addition, the position of the offices on hills high above the ground accentuates their superiority.
------------------------
Ive's office has a quirky side to it, in terms of the design. As he is the head Industrial Designer of one of the leading businesses in the world, a conventional 4-walled house just wouldn't do. But on the other hand, the 'light and simple' designs of the Apple Products designed by him reinforce that the design of the office need not to be too ridiculous. The thin walls reinforce this idea of lightness and the two shades emphasises the simplicity in design.
------------------------
------------------------
The overall idea of power is clear in this final capture. The size of the hills in comparison to the surrounding buildings already strengthen their superiority. The bridge is situated above a central park which is where most people gather for socialisation, this bolsters the idea that the two clients have greatly influenced the social world.

Week 1 - MashUp of 3 Articles
Most definitions of power emphasize the ability to influence others, their choices and their actions. Despite great fame and fortune, both manage to guard their privacy. Ranking the famous on that basis would require a very different methodology: we would need to determine which celebrities most influence — or could influence — things such as voting behaviour and attitudes about important social choices. By that criterion, Oprah Winfrey would still rate quite high. Certainly, money and power tend to coincide, but the connection between them is not a one-way street. Money can generate power, but it's also true that power gained through other means can be monetized and produce wealth. [Lady Gaga uses her]music and videos to raise this question and to confound the usual exploitative answers provided by “the media.” Copycats will surely follow, but to say Gaga is an innovator or trailblazer is to give her too much credit. Her elaborate performances and celebrations of outsiders, if anything, prove that she's a pop music history major, tapping into a glam-era cult of personality similar to David Bowie and Marilyn Manson. Having a deep understanding of how a product is made: its materials, its tooling, its purpose. Mostly, he focused on the need to care deeply about the work.

Week 1 - Valley
Initial 'Valley':
Final 'Valley':
This valley was initially a 'natural' landscape, but after some though of the correlation between my clients (Lady GaGa and Jonothan Ive) and their environment, I decided to go for a more man-made environment.

Week 3 - Experiment 2 - Final Crysis Submission: Frap Captures, Objects + Final Sandbox 2 File from FileFront.
Electroliquid Aggregation:
" Through the study of mathematics in points, lines and surfaces one gradually establishes a clear set of rules which shapes their own knowledge and understanding. "
" Through the study of mathematics in points, lines and surfaces one gradually establishes a clear set of rules which shapes their own knowledge and understanding. "
The differing geometries which make up my final building exemplify the notion that complimentary ideas/geometries gradually grow in meaning when placed side by side. The use of small geometries linking larger geometries further enhances this hypothesis.
This is Newton's lab (Hypothesis 6). The idea of 'light' is portrayed through the 'lightly supported' walls, floors and ceiling, the blue lighting 'gradually' leads us to the main structure('subject') of the building, the column connecting both spaces.
The contrasting light (light = less geometry) and dark textures(dark = more geometry) reinforces Agnesi's passion in mathematics and talent is exploring different geometries. The contrasting textures elevates the idea that both of the scientists were able to construct extraordinary discoveries through testing their different hypotheses.

" Through the study of mathematics in points, lines and surfaces one gradually establishes a clear set of rules which shapes their own knowledge and understanding. "
Hypothesis 2 (Freud was interested in the workings of the unconscious and discovered these through studying his patients' dreams.)
Hypothesis 4 (Newton wanted to design a parallel universe)
Hypothesis 3 (Agnesi was talented in exploring different geometries, passion in mathematics.)
Hypothesis 6 (Newton's subjects are rendered little by little and gradually in a full clear light)
Hypothesis 1 (Maria Agnesi desired to communicate with nature)
Hypothesis 5 (Freud struggled with cancer causing contemplation in suicide).
